Meeting with Ayatullah Wahid Khorassani
A Moment with Ayatullah Mohsin Korasani (HA)
On the blessed eve of 17th Rabi' al-Awwal, I had the honor of meeting Ayatullah Mohsin Korasani in his office. The atmosphere was calm, yet charged with the weight of wisdom. Our conversation turned quickly to the responsibilities of scholars and the evolving needs of Muslim communities around the world.
He shared a powerful insight: “Every society has its own unique needs.” He explained that a scholar within the Islamic Republic might spend years mastering the specific disciplines required to serve that environment. Meanwhile, a scholar living abroad may need to focus on different priorities—acquiring knowledge that speaks directly to the challenges and questions of their own community. The point was clear: true scholarship isn’t just about knowledge—it’s about relevance, and knowing who you’re serving.
Then, with heartfelt emphasis, he said:
"Teach the people Ahkam."
He stressed the importance of making Islamic rulings accessible to the public. “We have separate books of Ahkam for men and women,” he noted, highlighting the need for tailored guidance. To support this mission, he graciously handed me a set of books:
احکام جوانان (Ahkam-e-Javanan) — Islamic Rulings for Youth
احکام بانوان (Ahkam-e-Banovan) — Islamic Rulings for Women
نور الهدایة فی اصول دین (Noor al-Hidayah fi al-Usul al-Deen) — The Light of Guidance in the Principles of Religion
These weren’t just books—they were tools for transformation. His words were a call to nurture clarity, cultivate moral responsibility, and build communities rooted in the teachings of the Ahlulbayt (عليهمالسلام).
